While GPS refers specifically to the US-owned system, GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) is the umbrella term that includes GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou. Modern "GPS Modules" are almost always multi-GNSS for better reliability.
TTFF (Time to First Fix) is critical. A "Cold Start" happens when the module has no valid data. Our modules use AGPS (Assisted GPS) technology to reduce TTFF from 30 seconds down to less than 2 seconds via network data assistance.
